The Department of Printing Services — known as Government Press — is the trusted backbone of secure, high-quality printing for public and private institutions nationwide.
Established in 1894, the Department of Printing Services (DPS), also known as Government Press, is one of Malawi’s oldest and most vital public service institutions. Initially formed with the mandate of handling official government printing, the department’s role was significantly broadened in 1970 when it was re-designated to operate as a Treasury Fund under Section 17 of the Finance and Audit Act and Section 37:01 of the Laws of Malawi.

National Reach
The Department is headquartered in Lilongwe and maintains its largest printing works in Zomba, with additional sub-printing offices in both Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
